Gertie Mallon
Gertrude “Gertie” Mallon is the older of the Mallon sisters. She collects magical hats, hopes to become a master enchanter someday, and almost always has chocolate handy.

Bridget Mallon
Bridget Mallon is a few years younger than her sister, but seems wise beyond her years from an accident that befell her in childhood. The accident injured her eye, taking her sight, but allowing her to see things that shouldn’t be seen. Despite the magic that has infiltrated her body, Bridget wants to pursue mathematics, or teaching, or something to do with science, and her favorite past time is playing basketball.

Eloise and Theodore Mallon
Eloise Mallon is the CEO of Mallon Securities, a company with the philosophy that only magical security can thwart magical thievery. Theodore Mallon (née Broker) is a teacher and generally suspicious of the amount of magic in his life. They love their daughters dearly, and hope that Flories Boarding School will help them learn what they need to pursue their dreams.
Ziggy Mallon
Ziggy was Gertie and Bridget’s dog, who passed away a few years before the start of the series. His ghost, however, decided to hang around, and so he accompanies the girls on their mundane adventures. Bridget can see him because of her bewitched eye, and Gertie commissioned a baseball cap that allows her to see him when she wears it.

Ernest Yilnog
Ernest Yilnog is the youngest descendant of one of the most powerful witch families in Crescyth. His relatives use their magical gifts in service of science, the military, and furthering the world’s knowledge. He uses it to make nice music.

Vivien Shew
Vivien is from the west coast of Crescyth, and as such has a bit of an accent and a predisposition to think of magic as dangerous. That hasn’t stopped her from experimenting, but she can never let her parents know.

Peter Nessing
Peter is the eldest of the Nessing siblings. When he transferred to Flories he immediately joined the swim team. He wears a necklace that heals him whenever he gets injured, and puts it to use whenever his siblings get into trouble.

Charlie Nessing
Charles “Charlie” Nessing is the middle child of the Nessing siblings. There were some problems at his previous school, but Charlie and his family disagree on exactly what happened. Nevertheless, Charlie loves magic with a burning passion, and nothing can get in the way of that.

Faye Nessing
Faye is the youngest of the Nessing siblings. She doesn’t get along with her Flories roommates, but besides her brothers, she doesn’t get along well with people, just animals. Her dream is to become a veterinarian, and she’s well on her way. It’s just too bad freshmen aren’t allowed to take Anatomy and Physiology yet.
